Forward Tipping Dumper
3 days | Up to 4 candidates
Theory Training includes the following subjects:
- Principles and aims of health and safety at work
- Employee’s duties and responsibilities under law
- Safety signs
- Dealing with hazards
- Accident prevention and control
- Selection and use of personal protective equipment
- Handling plant-related harmful substances
- Operator Roles and responsibilities
- Operator preparation for work
- Machine Travelling and manoeuvring
- Setting up for work
- Working tasks
- Completing work
- Shutdown procedures
- Machine handbooks
Practical Training covers:
- Basic construction, names of components and the purpose and use of all controls and gauges
- Use of the operator’s handbook, other information sources, Approved Codes of Practice and legislative documents
- Pre-use, start, running checks and close-down procedure
- Preparing the dumper for site and road travel
- Travelling the dumper over different terrain including rough and undulating ground
- Manoeuvring, progressing to confined spaces in a forward and reverse direction and identification of conditions that will make the dumper unstable
- How to set the Dumper for receiving loads
- Loading procedures
- How to discharge into trenches and over edges
- Placing the dumper in an out-of-service condition
- Loading and unloading procedures on and off a transporter
