Construction firm BAM has been named as the preferred company to take on the new £10 million North Wales head quarter for emergency services. The centre will be located in Wrexham, near the Maelor Hospital. It will be the first joint project brought together by the partnership scheme of Welsh Ambulance Services, NHS Trust and North Wales Fire and Rescue. The new shared location aims to improve the services response to incidents.
What are the future plans for Bam Construction?
The all new building will boast separate administration offices for the ambulance and fire services. Fire Services will have a garaging facility with space for eight vehicles and a training house. The Ambulance Services will have a depot for its vehicles also and a ‘Make Ready Area’. The plans also include preserving a 15 metre wide ecological corridor along the river where otters and bats reside.
The whole building will be 3,600 meters squared over 2 floors, it has been designed to gain a BREEAM excellent rating, left in the safe hands of those at BAM Construction, no doubt it will achieve this. Completion is set for January 2016.
